Studying more than one language?

has anyone ever studied 2 or more languages in college?Was it difficult? I studied french in secondary school and I want to continue it in college, I love spanish aswell and i study it at home in my spare time. Would i get mixed up? I am also thinking about doing italian for a year or is that completely mad?

  1. No you don't get them mixed up! (well I don't anyway!) In college I studied German and Spanish, but I think tht French is more similar to Spanish than German is, so maybe you might! Do you ever get them mixed up now?

    If so I don't think you should do both!

    Also it depends what you want to do when you leave college!Hope I Helped!


  2. it is possible. I study french, italian, spanish, german, latin, russian and chinese. I know it sounds unrealistic but if you study real hard you can take up as many languages as you want. and you don't get mixed up if you study 2 romanic languages at the same time. because of the slight difference it is easier than german and russian for example.

  3. In the UK it's common to study two foreign languages at university - sometimes (though not always) learning one of them from scratch. Probably more common than only studying one.

    It's also common for schoolkids to learn more than one foreign language, and getting mixed up really isn't seen as an issue.
