  1. Sorry, I would go with the past. Everything has already occured; by studying the past, one can know what to expect in the future.

    And it doesn't look good!


  2. Because, old proverb says, "time and tide wait for no man".

  3. We have to learn from our previous mistakes by being good students of the present and learning to use good judgment and discretion so that we don't repeat the mistakes of our past. Otherwise put: Study what's going on around you so that you can be wise and make good decisions.

  4. The past has already happened, so cannot be altered.

    The future can only be affected by our actions in the present.

    Actions can only be undertaken in the present, however, the past is still important in learning from our mistakes and learning how to propagate our successes for the future.
