Studying tips for a final exam in world history?

I have world history final exam on tuesday, and its about 400 pages of information, and i've been through about 1/5 of it so far, taking notes..

On the study guide, there are only one or two terms for each section. But my dad wants me to briefly read the whole book again, and then reread it, taking notes.

I only have today and monday, but i am going to study a lot.

What do you think is the most efficient way of studying for this final exam?

  1. Reading the whole book isn't how to do it.. that will just overload your brain.. check the terms, and write them down so you know what you are trying to remember... maybe do a little paraphrasing, but, that's about it.. I used to stuff a bit of it in  my brain just before a test, but, overstudying is worse than understudying.

  2. When studying try to put events in your own words.  Like Napoleon Kicked his behind and won the lottery or Cleopatra was always in heat.... KISS (keep it simple stupid, as someone said)

  3. I was a failure at studying until I took a study skills class.  They assigned an academikit that's helped me study for everything.  Probably a little late for this final, but you should check it out for future classes.

  4. Read only the synopsis of the major topics prior to the examination!
