Try this site for more information. Some people can overcome depression, but not all.

Yes, I have told many people b/c it is apart of my life.

  2. Yes, everyone could tell because everything that was important to me got severely messed up. Job, friendships, some family relationships. Just keep going forward..... look forward to the future, focus on things that you really enjoy.

  3. yup I suffered from it.... it got really really bad for about a year during HS  and I just kept telling myself that it has to get better... and that sooner or later it will.... as an adult I gave in and went tot he doctor and got put on meds for it.... finally now after 2 years I am med free, and for the most part depression free... I changed my mind set and the way I look at things....  if you really need to talk... Email me TNseacat@yahoo.com  or look me up on messanger....

  4. I made my self busy, started to go out more and joined the gym and made more friends.

  5. i'm not sure if i did, last year, my family went through drama and h**l, and i was just feeling soo sad all time, but i don't know, i mean i still feel like that half the time...but i think im getting better

  6. Yes, I suffered from it, I beat it, and this is the 12 step guide I created that not only helped me through it but I've helped 2 friends with it.

    1. Yourself - Only you can fix your own depression, your commitment, your fortitude, your will to live and love life for what it is.

    2. Secondary help - Omega - 3 acids are said to help act as an anti-depressant, you can get it straight up or you can get it through Fish (Anywhere, at home or at jack in the box :P)

    3. Psychologists - They can listen to you and hear what you have to say and contrary to popular belief, they do understand what you're going through and want to help you and also have great exercise tips to help you re-affirm the fact that you want to feel better.

    4. Exercise / Chores - Endorphins are a great kick in the rear for depression. Anything from jogging to simple push-ups. h**l, if you can't get out, do the dishes or take out the trash, clean your room. Do something!!! Don't wallow in your own sorrow. Kick it in the butt!

    5. Friends - Friends can make you feel like you belong and help you through your tough times, but you have to trust them and be there for them as much as they are for you.

    6. Family - Sometimes people are less fortunate in this area but for the ones who have truly loving family whether it be brothers / parents / grandparents, they will be your guiding light through all of this (Unless this is the cause of the depression)

    7. Sleep - Sometimes sleep is just a good 8 hour "Get away from it all" scenario where you don't have to think about anything. Sometimes it has a nasty side-effect of making your more depressed when you wake up though, so warning about that.

    8. Tranquility - Try to find peace during your busy day, this way you can see that life is more calm than it feels, take a quiet dip in the pool late at night, or sit on the patio in the middle of the day and look at the trees and clouds. Or h**l, stare at a wall! :D

    9. Yourself - Again, none of the above stated tactics will work unless you yourself actually want to feel better and don't want to feel the way you do anymore.

    10. Unless a Psychiatrist really suggests it, don't take medications like zoloft or whatever the top dollar ones are these days. They are more like placebo drugs to trick your mind into thinking your okay because if you think the pill will actually do something, they will, why? Because again "Your life is what your thoughts make it" I fought my depression without a single pill, because I wanted to be better, I didn't look for sympathy or an easy way out. It has to be done not only naturally but from the soul, not the pill.

    11. Music - Music is a huge healer, find anything that suits you

    12. TV - Sometimes tv can help, I used to watch the show scrubs because they seemed to hit on every point I was dealing with.

  7. To start with I didn't understand what was wrong, I just wasn't happy. I changed jobs thinking that was the problem, but it wasn't. I would make these really big sales & then go back to my car sitting there crying. I finely had to checked myself into a treatment center where I found I was in major depression. The treatment center tried to help, but God pulled me out of it. Find someone to pray for you, one on one. If there is anyway I can help e-mail me through Yahoo answers.

  8. well when i suffered from it one of my friends slapped me and said "stop being stuch a boring p***y" and i dunno why it just ended

  9. I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder 2 years ago. It took a year of scary medical issues to figure out that the anxiety was the real cause. I take anti depressants to control the anxiety. It has made a world of difference for me. I know a few people who have depression and it is a long struggle. It is not something that comes and just disappears. If so - it is 'the blues' and not true depression. You should talk to a Dr. to see if meds. would help you - talking to a therapist is always good too. Yes - I did tell people about it, (I did not broadcast it, but close friends and family were ok  in my opinion). It helps that people know what you are going through and that you can talk to them about it - and also so they know whats going on and do not take something to heart that may be part of your symptoms.

    Good luck..
