  1. Teach her some gambling early

  2. There are lots of fun activites a 12 yr old will enjoy in Las Vegas. Here is a list of a few. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/entertain...

  3. Check www.lasvegasnow.com

Adventure Dome Amusement Park at Circus Circus

    Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

Mystere cirque show at Treasure Island

Secret Garden Sigfriend & Roy at Mirage (includes dolphins and tigers)

    Lance Burton

NO animals shows ...... Vegas has basically gotten rid of them since Roy was mauled by tiger in show

  4. There are a few things she would appreciate:

    *Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

*Dolphin Habitat and Secret Garden at Mirage

    *Lion Exhibit at MGM

*Rides at Stratosphere, Circus Circus, Sahara, & NYNY

*Shows like Stomp Out Loud, Blue Man Group, she might like some of the Cirque shows

*the dinner theater show at Excalibur

*"Free" shows on the strip - Bellagio fountains, Treasure Island pirate show, Mirage volcanoes

    *Maddame Tussaud's Wax Museum

  5. Las Vegas is not a child friendly place overall, however, you will find amazing things to do with your 12 yr old.  Circus Circus on the strip was an experiment that failed.  I think it is ok to go to Circus Circus but wouldn't recommend you stay there.  It is a little drab.   Below is a lead to the Vegas pool complexes.  In addition, you should plan a day trip or two with her.  There is Horseback Riding in the desert, neon light night helicopter flights, canyon runs, hoover dam tours and much more.  Also there are magic shows, even some Circ De Solis shows are ok for kids, and of course, the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur.  Splurge on the Las Vegas monorail tickets ($40 each for unlimited travel all the way from MGM to Las Vegas Hilton) and it will save you a lot of misery.  Free things to do:  Volcano at Mirage, Lion Habitat at MGM, Pirates Show at Treasure Island, Bellagio Fountain Show, and of course...tour the Wynn and Venetian.  She will absolutely LOVE Madamn Tussuad's Wax Museum near Venetian so bring your camera.  If she likes Star Trek the Hilton has a Museum and Trekker experience.  Have fun and send me a pic.  The link below gives 360 degree tours of famous Vegas Pools.  I recommend either Mandalay Bay for the Waves or MGM for the over all pool complex.  Pools in vegas are closed at dark

  6. Circus circus has a nice amusment park indoors, New York, NY has a cool rollercoaster outside, he'd like to go up the stratusfere tower, or the eifel tower at the Paris hotel.  I'm not sure of any animal shows though.  a cool pirate show out in front of Treasure Island casino though, thats nicer at night time, lots of fire.

  7. When I went to Las Vegas, I was only 6 or 7, and I had a blast because we stayed at the Circus Circus hotel. And we went on a cruise to the Hoover Dam. It was a lot of fun.

  8. Check out the Secret Garden at the Mirage and Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.  I wouldn't call these animal shows, these activities can be enjoyed at any age. Your daughter will appreciate Game works and the roller coasters (NY NY and Sahara).  You can try the adventuredome at Circus Circus.  Sometimes the crowd there tends to be a little younger, your 12-year-old daughter may not appreciate that. There is also a movie theater on the strip, along with the Bellagio Fountains, Mirage Volcano, Sirens of TI show, and Fremont Street Downtown. There are also lots of good shopping, Fashion Show, The Forum Shops at Caesars' and Desert Passage.  You can always fall back on the hotel pool.  Unfortunately, most of these diversions are short lived, I can only guess your daughter will become bored quickly.  You might be better off leaving her with someone you trust, than taking her on your working vacation to Vegas.

  9. Awesome! I am twelve and I just went there a few weeks ago! It was AWESOME! Ha. There are TONS of great shows for kids and adults to watch. There are a lot of great malls such as PLANET HOLLYWOOD!

Trust me... a lot of great things are there family related.

    Have fun!

    (i know I did)

  10. I think that your 12 year old would enjoy the free stuff.

    1. Number one on my list is to watch the fountains displays in front of the Bellagio hotel. It usually runs every 15 minutes in summers starting at 3:00 PM; runs continuously until about midnight. Each show is different (there are more than 20 different tunes choreographed) so stay and watch at least 2 or 3. ALSO, go inside the Bellagio hotel to its lobby and view the beautiful glass sculptured ceiling AND the seasonal floral arrangements in the Atrium. ( http://www.bellagio.com/amenities/founta... )

    2. The “Sirens of TI” show (spectacular) in from of the Treasure Island Hotel; it runs every 90 minutes starting at about 4:30 PM. Simply stand on the sidewalk in front of the TI Hotel. http://www.treasureisland.com/pages/ent_...

    3. The volcano erupt in from of the Mirage Hotel; starting at dark until midnight. Again, just stand on the sidewalk in front of the hotel.

    4. Go down to Fremont Street and see the light shows. There are usually 3 or 4 different shows, starting after dark (about 8:30PM) and lasting about 5 or 10 minutes each.

    5. Go to the RIO hotel to see the Masquerade in the Sky show. It is like Mardi Gras parade, only suspended from the ceiling over the gambling floor. It runs every 60 minutes starting about 3:00 PM; the last show starts at 9:30 PM..

    http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/rio/casin...

    6. Go in Caesars Palace and walk through the Forum shops to the first fountain (its spectacular) then take the first fork to the left to go see the aquarium. Then continue on through the shops to the second fountain and wait for the show to start.

If you are a Star Trek Fan, go to the Hilton (off the strip) for "Star Trek The Experience"; it cost about $35.

In addition there are plenty of other things.  If you kid likes roller coasters, there are roller coaster rides at the NY, NY hotel/casino, at the Sahara Hotel/Casino, and, for those with a strong heart, three rides at the top of the Stratosphere Tower.

The Circus Circus Hotel/casino has arcades and an indoor amusement park. There is a place called Game Works below the Coke World experience (nest to the MGM Hotel) that has all type video games. In addition, many hotels Like the Excalibur and Treasure Island have an arcade area.

Also, go into the MGM Hotel and walk through the lion habitat, and/or into the Flamingo hotel and see the flamingo and penguin habitat.  You can go to the Mirage and see a dolphin show (a fee to get in); or to the Mandalay Bay to see the Shark Reef (also a fee venue).

There are movie theaters in the Palms (multiplex) which is just off the Strip on Flamingo Road (across from the Rio Hotel) and also another on the Strip across the street from the Monte Carlo hotel, near the MGM hotel. The Orleans House also has movie theaters.

If you like to bowl, there are alley's in The Gold Coast Hotel/Casino (beside the RIO) and in the Orleans Hotel Casino. .

If you have access to a car:

RED ROCK CANYON: Its about 20 miles west of Las Vegas out Charleston Blvd (you can pick up that street at the north end of the Strip) It’s a scenic drive-through park. Go early, not in the heat of the day; there's no shade.

HOOVER DAM: Drive about 30 miles southeast of Vegas and go to Hoover Dam; the National Park Service offers tours there (@ $12.) and its interesting stuff. Go on past Hoover dam to Boulder City and then to Lake Meade for a swim and/or to visit the new casino there. Also, there are tour companies that will take you on a cruise of the river below Hoover Dam. Check the Vegas web sites.
