  1. You can catch the water taxi right outside Union Station and take a ride to Navy Pier...you can either stay for some time there or if the schedule is too tight, just ride back.

The Sears Tower suggeston is excellent, it is right there...actually less than 5 minutes.

  2. Shedd Aquarium/Oceanarium

    Weekend/Holidays mid-May to Labor Day:

130 east on Jackson at river. Daily: Any bus east on Jackson (except

    156) at the river; ride to State; then 146 south on State.

  3. Sears Tower is two blocks away. Right outside the sstation there's a free boat that takes you to Michigan Avenue by the shopping. There's also a free trolely taht will take you to Lincoln Park Zoo or the Mag Mile. There's lots of restaurants. You could also just walk around and see the sights, union is right in the middle of the loop.

  4. The buses can take you almost anywhere so check their schedules. The Sears tower is a few blocks away as is the Chicago mercantile exchange. You can walk to the tower in 5 min.

  5. Well, when I was stuck at Union Station in Chicago on a 6-hour layover I got mugged, and that took up a big portion of time. Not the mugging itself, but reporting it, looking through mug shots, etc. Not something I'd recommend but a distinct possibility. Be careful and keep an eye out. I'm sure you'll find something fun to do.
