  1. I like bike riding, the library card is also a great idea.  I crochet, sew, embroider, cross-stitch, etc.....and when it's summer, I like to take walks outside and try to collect things that catch my interest to craft with....acorns, leaves, pinecones, pretty rocks.

Maybe buy some dye and dye any old, uninteresting, or stained clothing?

    Start a journal, scrapbook...

    Hope this helps

  2. You should try www.ScraplessBooks.com --they are the best when it comes to digital Storybooking.

It is all online, no software to download. You can start from scratch with a blank book, or use one of hundreds of professionally designed templates with any and every theme imaginable.

With a template, the entire book is pretty much already designed for you, but has spaces left out for your own pictures and text. Also, templates can be changed, they are not permenant--if you don't like the particular button or ribbon or whatever, you can delete it or exchange it for something else.

This is also much cheaper than a traditional scrapbook. You pay $20 for a month's use of the online library of over 60,000 pieces of artwork including backgrounds and embellishments, quotes and texts, and more. Then you pay for the book itself. The books run in all sizes and price ranges, with the 5x5 being $29.95 and the 12x12 being $79.95. And, these are not the cheap, impersonal books you find all over the internet and in every store these days either! These are quality, library bound, hand stitched, hard-back, custom books.

The price does not go by how many pictures or embellishments you use--use as much or as little as you want. Each book comes with a standard 21 pages and you pay $.99 per page after 27 pages, and each is expandable up to 99 pages.

You will not find a better, easier, better quality, cheaper way of scrapbooking. Period.

  3. I enjoy quilting.  I taught myself to quilt,  if I can, anyone can.  There are many good sites here are just a few:

    www.how-to-quilt.com

    www.appliquequiltdesigns.com

    www.learntoquilt.com

    www.aquiltingbee.com

  4. How about doing a jigsaw puzzle? They are quite affordable and provide a low-tech way to unwind and relax. You can work them alone or with a friend. They keep your brain in shape and improve skills in problem solving, dimensional thinking, logic and of patience. If you are interested in reading more about jigsaw puzzles, just follow the links below.

  5. Here is what I would do:

Get a library card.  So many really great books out there.  Books can really pass the time away.

Take up a hobby such as needlepoint.  There are millions of patterns and needlepoint is also fairly easy to learn.  Most craft stores have everything you need to get started.  Cross stitch is also really really easy.  My 7 year old can do it.  The cross stitch boxes come with everything you need, patterns, yarn, directions, etc.

    Hope this helps.

  6. You can make free short little videos at Animoto.

You can make Blingees and enter their contests.
