  1. Hi! I'm "murcian". You can visit historical towns and cities like:

** Murcia (a lively university town with andalusian and baroque enchant, but is also a modern city, FULL (when I say full I SAY FULL) of shops, malls, boutiques...

**Cartagena. It's even older than Murcia, in fact, one of the oldest cities in Spain, with a beautiful harbor between cliffs, lots of roman ruins (included a big roman theater in ruins), beautiful pedestrian streets, old militar installations and loads of beautiful modernist buildings. A city with a lot of history and as lively as all harbor cities

**Lorca, the third city in Murcia province by size, famous by its baroque old town and its castle. It celebrate a famous Spanish festival called "Lorca Rock"

**Caravaca de la Cruz", a small historical town, with a beautiful old town, and the Sanctuary of the Vera Cruz, where it's said it is part of the cross of Christ. It's is the FIFTH HOLIEST CITY IN CHRISTIANISM (after Rome, Jerusalem, Santiago de Compostela and Santo Toribio de Liebana)

There are also many tourist resorts, urban and natural beaches, like the almost-closed bay of the Mar Menor (in english "the Lesser Sea"), la Manga (the bar of land that separates the Mar Menor to the Mediterranean, and beautiful beaches from Cartagena to the limits of the Murcia Province (together Almeria Province, in Andalusia), like Mazarrón or Águilas.

Nightlife is fantastic in the coast sites and vibrant in Murcia during when the students attend to the University. A lot of famous spanish bands and singers are from Murcia city, including M-Clan, Diego Martín and the indie band Second (that sings in Spanish and English)

There are many golf resorts in Murcia.

There are a lot of nature in the coast (like the Calblanque natural park) and inland (Sierra Espuña for example) and a lot of rural houses.

Many festivies of Murcia are considered of "international interest" like the Holy week in Lorca and Cartagena, the day of the "Entierro de la Sardina" ("Burial of the Sardine") during the Spring festivities in Murcia city, the Fiestas of the Santisima y Vera Cruz in Caravaca city and the national festival of Cante de las Minas in La Union, (a flamenco festival).

Other interesting festivities are the "Carthaginians and Romans" in Cartagena, the Bando de la Huerta of the Spring Festivities in Murcia...

Please see http://www.murciaturistica.es to get more information (that is available in Spanish, English, French and German).

Murcia is an unknown province even in Spain, but it's developing faster than most places in Spain, and it's still not as spoilt as the rest of Spanish coastal provinces, so it still has a "Spanish charm". It's more than sun, beaches and parties. It has nature, history and beautiful towns. I hope you enjoy your holiday there.
