Stuffed animals?

Question

so i have a bunch of stuffed animals from when i was younger, pretty much just sitting in my closet. most of them are in pretty good condition.

and i want to give them away to like an organization that would actually be given to kids who would want them and appreciate it, instead of just giving it to some kid who already has a billion stuffed animals.

any ideas, i thought of salvation army, but any other? thanks so much in advance

Sometimes rape & assault shelters would appreciate this.  Gives people something to hold on too.

I also heard police departments will have a few in their police cruiser for children.

Contact your local Police Dept. They usually sponsor a program like this for neglected children and when they are taken out of the home or something unfortunate happens, these toys are given for comfort to the child.

Not the salvation army. Or goodwill. Call up the police or fire department. They could give it to people who suffered something serious, like abuse, loss of home in disaster, rape, orphanization, etc. Or ask a church about charities.

I have all sorts of stuff, stuffed animals included, picked up directly from my front porch by the Community Service for the Blind. It's a local deaf & blind organization. They take everything from toys to furniture... Just about everything around the house I could think to get rid of.

However, a lot of donation services won't receive toys that aren't new or still wrapped. I'm sure you can find a place but I figured it was worth mentioning.

Try the children's hospital, your local church at certain times of the year have these special bins and maybe at the police department has some type of programs, or even try a chairty.

donate them to a police or sherriff department. when bad things happen, and they're called, it helps give the kids something to cuddle in a time of fear. they did that for my child when she did an interview. some hospitals will give them out when a child ends up in the e.r. too. thank-you for thinking of the kids!  :)

there are tons of charities that would be happy to take your stuffies. look online and see what you can find. i think theres one called, "smile" that takes stuffed animals and dresses them up for sick kids.
