Stunning day for Taj Burrow at 2011 Billabong Rio Pro
The third and fourth rounds of the 2011 Billabong Rio Pro dedicated to the Australian surfer, Taj Burrow, who had won the vital heats due to his most aggressive and all-round performance in surfing at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Thursday.
In the third heat, Burrow defeated Cory Lopez of USA with a sterling score of 14.66 to 10.84 (out of 20) at Barra da Tijuca.
Most importantly, he captured the highest heat score of 18.40 in the first heat of the fourth round and successfully placed into the fifth round of the 2011 Billabong Rio Pro.
Damien Hobgood of USA earned second with a total score of 14.60, while Daniel Ross of Australia settled third with 8.76 points in the respective heat.
After the completion of the third and fourth round heats, Burrow said that all went good for him so far, he felt  great and awesome out there certainly.
“As long as I can get a wave with an open face I feel like I can get the job done, but that’s the hard thing. Sometimes you just get on a roll and it has a lot to do with confidence. For me confidence is a big thing and it’s a tough one for me. When it’s high, I don’t know what it is, it just does it. I feel like I’ve been on tour long enough to win heats,” said Burrow.
Taj is the winner of the 2007 Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach. Besides, he is the champion of 2009 Billabong Pipeline Masters at the Banzai Pipeline.
Burrow is best known for his natural stance and spotless speed in the world of surfing today. He has the definite chance of winning the 2011 Billabong Rio Pro.
In another heat, Damien Hobgood of USA defeated Heitor Alves of Brazil with a score of 11.33 to 4.03.
Dan Ross of Australia won the third heat of the third round with a genuine score of 12.17 out of 20, while Adrian Buchan couldn’t be able to make a big impression in the following heat, ended 7.97 points at Rio de Janeiro yesterday.
