Stupid AntiSpyCheck software will not go away.

I don't know how it happened, but the program AntiSpyCheck got downloaded onto my account. It keeps changing things such as my homepage. I went to the control panel and tried removing it from my programs, but it's still popping up and taking over my webpages.

I also tried getting into my local disc and program files. It was there and I tried deleting it there too, but it told me it couldn't because the program is still in use. And I can't get it to be not in use.

IT WON'T GO AWAY!!

Can anyone help???

  1. this is the kind of spyware called a "browser hijacker"

so called because like you said, it changes your internet browser settings

shouldn't be too much of a problem to fix (yea I looked at the set of instructions the guy before me gave you a link to and it seems risky if you don't know what you're doing)

    download spybot search and destroy:

    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirro...

install and follow the instructions that will follow

restart computer in safe mode (which will automatically shut off all unnecessary processes, hopefully your antispycheck as well)

and do full scan of comp with spybot

    problem should be fixed =D

    good luck

  2. You need a good antispyware program to get rid of it.  AntiSpyCheck is what is called "rogue antispyware".  It's actually an infection.

If you have an antispyware program, try running a scan to remove the infection.  (And if you do have something, it's probably not that good since you got the infection.)

If it doesn't work, or you don't have anything, then get something.  Avast is free and pretty good, Webroot's product is good (but not free).

This site has manual removal instructions, if you scroll down the page, but I think it might be too difficult for you.

  5. If AntiSpyCheck has been installed on your system without your permission or you are seeing popup advertising or recommending that you use AntiSpyCheck your system is infected with the zlob trojan.

This one usually removes it and its free.

  6. Yep its a nasty one - I've seen it before.

You need to install a "legit" antispyware program in order to remvoe this, and clean up any nasties AntiSpyCheck may have installed. See the link below for removing spyware using AdAlert and NoAdware

  7. Anti Spy Check is the latest rogue anti-spyware application that may look like a legitimate spyware removal tool. Anti Spy Check may get inside your machine through various security loopholes or via Zlob Trojan. Once installed on your machine, Anti Spy Check will try to goad you into purchasing its full version. However, Anti Spy Check shouldn’t be trusted and is recommended to be removed with no delay.
