    When he says that, he doesn't literally as whether you smell the food that he's cooking, but it is more of an expressive language, a metaphor (literature inclined dudes, please correct me if it is included as a metaphor...)

    What he is trying to ask is that whether the fans are able to anticipate what funny or sensational antics that will be coming next. To dissect the sentence, smell implies the feeling or anticipation, while cooking refers to what The Rock is planning to do.
