Stupid dentist or stupid me?!?

okay. so i wore braces for...2 years & 4 months(but for those 4 months all they did was just sat on my teeth, keepn up space in my mouth), then wen i got them tooken off. i wore my retainer 24/7 like they askd but they said the 1st year 24/7, 2nd year just at nite, & then 3rd year u can start weraing ir wenevr.. but what my dentist didnt know was that after the 1st month or 2 i just startd wearing my retainer just at nite, but at check ups he NEVER noticed and said i was doing great.. then now i'm just wearing it wenevr i feel like it. i still put it in now & then 2 make sure my teeth dont move. my bottom retainer is still all fine and the reatiner is loose wen i have it on. but my top retainer is a lil bit tighter, then after an hour my retainer comes off easily!

is this bad 4 me to take it off ealier then my dentist said or did my dentist just not know how secure my teeth were!??

hey. my situation is similar to yours. now i havent worn my retainers for almost 2 years and will be gg back to my dentist end of this yr.

i realised that yes, we shud wear them because otherwise they will move back!.. sigh!...and dear dentist will prob give new ones coz old ones wont fit well.. more $$ spent too...

lets just pray we'll both get lovely straight teeth back again!!

You should have listened to what your orthodontist said.  He/She has gone to school for years and they know what they are talking about.

I would wear your retainer whenever possible because your teeth will shift if you don't.  Then the years you had in braces will be wasted.
