Stupid hyperlink in YAHOO!.....???

Question

In the home page of yahoo only the " ! " mark in main Yahoo logo at the top of the page is having a link to the yahoo page itself... Why it is so??

If memory serves me correctly, a couple of years ago people complained to Yahoo about that large hyperlink on the entire Yahoo logo. They said whenever they moved their cursor to the search bar (more specifically, to the various search links like Images, Video, Local, Shopping and more) and pass over the logo, the hyperlink would open and require them to back out of it, close it down, etc. This required extra key strokes and some folks didn't like the inconvenience.

Because of the complaints, Yahoo decided to make the hyperlink less accessible by having it only on the exclamation mark. This would require a more deliberate effort by users to access it.  The only exception to this programming feature is when the Yahoo logo is being used to promote special events for a short period of time (for a couple of days during major holidays, changing of the seasons, etc.)
