In 1994 a sheriff officer was killed in the line of duty because the county police department failed to follow procedures of serving a warant leaving the sheriff officer killed while serving an warrant. Now i understand that the mother of this officier suffered alot but i don't understand how 15 years later shes suing and won $200,000! and is expecting to acquire another $1.8 million soon. My question is how the h**l does the court allow such people to get that much money? I understand the mothers pain and agony but your suing for money? She deserves to lose all her fortune one day.

  1. you can't put a price on the life of a human. that's why the justice system is screwed up.  people are punished w/ the death penalty, and people sue for loss of life of a loved one.  sure a bit of money might be due if the police department was really that much in the wrong, but 2 million dollars is a bit steep.

  2. Ever lose a loved one?  Sometimes no amount of money can set things right, but at least something can ease the grief.

  3. .... welcome to America... People sue for the stupidest things.  She is taking Tax payer money away form the city for her own grief.  Seriously, money cannot replace people, and if you think it can, then you got problems, and you are greedy.  1.8 million could be used in the schools to help kids learn, build roads, etc, i can think of a lot the government can do with 1.8 million,  Like use it to train better officers!!!!  Yes ,her son died at work, but does that give her a right to sue, even though he obviously was autonomous and independent of his mother?  I mean jeez!  I guess i should start suing for everyone i am related to for their deaths, because I'm greedy as h**l (Sarcasm)...

By the way, I understand that her son died, but money does not cure that...
