http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 has admitted that he is looking to build on his performances, after the forward scored for Great Britain in their three goals to one win over UAE last night.
The striker was brought on in the second half of the game and managed to score the team’s third goal of the game. As a result of his goal, the team went on to win by three goals to one. The goal also went on to lay claim to the striker being able to secure
a spot in the team’s starting eleven.
Despite his rather decent performance, the forward has admitted that he is looking to improve and build on his success.
"I'm slowly getting there," he said in a recent interview.
"Obviously I'm not back to my peak and I don't feel as good as I want to at the moment, but it's good to be playing , it's good to be on the pitch and I'm getting sharpness day by day.”
"It was good to score, obviously the fans have been fantastic, and it's been a difficult few weeks for myself so I'm happy to get on the score sheet but, more importantly, it's great that the team won."
The forward also admitted that the team has finally started to gel together as a unit and its only a matter of time before they start performing at their best.

He added: "We've only played three games together so it's been difficult for us but, as we've been showing in training, we've been getting a lot better.”
The Great Britain team is on course to make it to the next round of the tournament and should their performance improve from here on, they are more than likely to contest for the number one spot at the end of the tournament.
Should Stuart Pearce be able to get the team to perform at their very best, then it would give them a very good chance of ending the competition with a gold medal.
However, from here on its only a matter of time to see just how far the team can really go.
