Chelsea forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 has gone on to reveal that he wishes to be the Blues main man next season, as he hopes to be the team’s central striker this coming season.
The London based club are currently running short on experienced strikers, following the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 from the team.
The club now only have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 to choose from and with them needing an alternative forward, Sturridge has gone on to nominate himself to be that person.
The young English forward believes that he has what it takes to lead the line up front and is more than capable of doing so, if given the chance to prove his worth.
"I've been waiting for the opportunity as a striker since I joined Chelsea and hopefully this season will be the one where I can show what I can do there," Sturridge said in a recent interview.
However, Sturridge is going to face some strict completion from the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 this summer.
All of those players can play in an offensive position and this could threaten Sturridge’s chances of starting for the team.
He added: "The club has bought very well. It's important that we have players like [Eden] Hazard who can make something happen out of nothing.

"It's important that we play together on a regular basis so we gain an understanding. When it's a player's first season it is difficult to get into the speed of the Premier League game, so it is going to be a difficult season for them.

"But I'm sure they are good enough individuals and, with the help of the senior players, they will be fine."
All the forward really need to do, is to continue to impress for Great Britain. So far he has been performing brilliantly and his performances are really impressing everyone who has been watching him.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo is more than likely taking note of his form and given his performances, he is bound to let the striker prove his worth at the Stamford Bridge.
