Tomorrow is the first day of school for me (I'm 15), and I may have to introduce myself to the teachers and say my name and this is SO hard for me because I stutter. Its one of the only words that I cant substitute if I get stuck on it. It's going to be pretty embarrassing if I cant get out my name, can anyone offer any techniques?

  1. Awe, well don't be nervous its just your name i mean the worst thing that will happen is that you get embarrassed but so what everyone does.  Try to say it right out i don't really know much about stuttering but just don't be nervous you can do it.

  2. ahhh! i used to have this problem when i was younger, especially my freshman year. i'd get so nervous, when the teacher asked me wht my name was i would pause for like 5 seconds, 1000 things would go through my head then i'd stutter my name.

it's probably going to be the only thing you have to do on the first day. just breathe & say your name slowly & clearly & since your first day is tomorrow try saying your name like 200x in front of a mirror, on your way to school, walking to your class, even sitting in your chair. (and most teachers read your name on their roster so all you have to say is "here")

pshhh...try having to give an entire speech about you & your summer only in spanish in a spanish 3 honors class if you did nothing involving spanish your entire summer. haha. now that's flippin crazy.
