Question:

Stye and contacts? help?

i have a stye on my lower eyelid. my question is can i wear contacts (completely new, clean ones) because it doesnt hurt or affect my stye?

or is this bad?

  1. Eh, it's probably not the best idea.  When I had a stye a few times, I usually waited until it went down just a little bit so it was definitely on the outside of my lid and not near the inside, and then I used my contacts.  It's up to you.


  2. You can wear contacts. If the stye bursts and empties into your eye while wearing the contact lens, remove it immediately, and be sure to disinfect it thoroughly.

    At night, carefully put neosporin ointment on the outside of your eyelid.

    According to Wikipedia:

    "Contact lenses should never be worn during treatment for a stye. Eye make-up is not recommended, and it is also important to refrain from touching the stye."
