Styling 3 inch hair ?

i use to always stick my hair up when is was short but im growing it now. but i'd still like to style it with hair stuff but i dont know how to so it just looks bad. and im male so do any of you know how to style longish hair?

Gel or hairspray.  Its always hard to style when your in between short and long.

3 inch isn't long at all hahaha trust me, mines about 6 inches but i would recommend like sweeping it over to the right or left and getting it to stay there with hair gel or spray

tease and spray then comb a little over the top, follow a sweeping direction and try not to use gel. It looks ****.

Use spray and if lazy && desperate, WAX. no gel. WAX.
