Question:

Stylists... Face framing uneven?

I keep my hair long, from right below my shoulders to my waist depending on how short I feel like having it. I always get layers and I always get a face frame. I have worn my hair with the same side part for years now and every stylist I have been to I tell that to before the cut. They ALWAYS cut my face frame with a middle part so my face frame always looks uneven when my hair is down! I've had the side part so long you can't part it any other way when it's dry so they KNOW where it is. Shouldn't they be cutting it so it will look even on both sides with the part?? Shouldn't they already know that??

  1. whenever you get your haircut, they usually part your hair in the middle and then cut it. that's just the way it's done. if you want them to cut it in a specific way [with side part] then just let them know before you get it cut.

  2. They should be using a middle part for sectioning to cut the bottom of your hair but when they are done with that they should part your hair where you normally do and do your face frame and then once they blowdry it they should check to see if your face frame is even and correct.  Some new or inexperienced stylists get hung up on doing precise haircuts where everything is based on symetrical parts.  Find an experienced stylist and tell them the problem that you have been having.

  3. Just remind them when they part it if it bothers you that much however even if they cut it with the parting in the correct place it will still look uneven because one side will be far heavier than the other.
