http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 striker, Luis Suarez, is confident that his side will be able to wriggle out of their current slum, and was satisfied by their performance so far this season.
The Uruguayan International was of the opinion that the Reds have suffered from misfortune, despite playing superior football than their opponents at times.
However, he vested his faith in manager Brendan Rodgers, and believes that the Ulsterman will be able to steer the team out of their troubles.
Liverpool, who lost their last league game against bitter rivals, Manchester United on Sunday, are currently languishing at the eighteenth spot in the table.
So far, they have managed to secure just 2 points out of a possible 15.
Their poor results of late have put Rodgers under fire, who took over the Anfield reins from Kenny Dalglish in June.
Questions have already being raised over the chances of the Northern Irishman’s playing philosophy succeeding at Anfield.
Nonetheless, the 25-year old had no doubts whatsoever that Rodgers was the right man for Liverpool.
The striker insisted that the aggressive playing style that the Reds displayed in their last couple of games was a proof that they were headed in the right direction. He also felt that it was only a matter of time before they get back to winning ways.
“We also have new manager and I think we've been a bit unlucky at times, but we've been playing the kind of football he wants us to play,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“We’ve been a bit unlucky, and I still believe - and will continue to believe - that we have a lot of quality here and a manager who is giving everyone the confidence to believe in their opportunities.”
Suarez then went on to say that their slow start can also be attributed to the fact that they have played the top three EPL teams of the previous season in their first 5 matches.
“It makes it more difficult when your opening fixtures of the season are against strong teams like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, Manchester City and Manchester United - they are not easy games,” he added.
