Suarez admits to poor form in the league

Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez has lamented the Reds league performance this season and believes that the Merseyside team’s defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 was a severe blow for their Champions League ambitions.
The 25 year old player from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Wigan Athletic in consecutive matches.
However, he believed that things would have been a lot different, had the Merseyside team managed a win against the Gunners at Anfield. Liverpool went down 2-1 in that match after a stoppage time winner from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380.
"The problem stems from that day. It was a key match and the defeat really affected us. If we had beaten the Gunners everything could have changed.” He said while talking to reporters.
Despite the Reds Carling Cup triumph in February and their impressive run in the FA Cup, the striker described the Reds current season as a failure.
“We have failed in our other dream. Nobody could have believed we would be beaten by QPR and Wigan.”
He also mentioned the impact of some refereeing decisions and injuries on the Reds progress and believed that his side have been guilty of not been able to close out the match on a number of occasions.
“We have incredibly missed out in the last minutes of matches, we've been affected by injuries and cards.”He added.
Suarez also urged his side to salvage whatever they can from the remaining matches and hoped that his side will go out hard against Newcastle United on Sunday. He mentioned that the best way to appease the overwrought fans will be by winning the FA Cup.
However, he stressed the need of finishing the season in the highest possible position in the league.
“Our mission is to finish in the highest position possible and to fight for the FA Cup. To win two cups will be the best we can give to the fans.”
Suarez backed his team mate, Andy Carroll who will play against his former club, Newcastle on Sunday. He advised the troubled striker to keep his focus going into the match and expressed his confidence that the player will play to his ability.
He claimed that the Englishman, who is short of goals since his move to Anfield, is practicing hard during training and hoped that the player will be able to score a goal against his former club.
Suarez also termed his lengthy suspension from football as the ‘worst period of his career’. However, he expressed his desire to move on and to focus just on his game.
