Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, has unravelled his desire of helping the Reds re-claim the Champions League spot this season.
The Merseyside outfit, which suffered an inconsistent start to the campaign, currently reside at the eighth spot in the league standings. They are five points adrift of the fourth place, having collected 25 points from their 18 fixtures.
One upside, though, for the Reds has been the blistering form of the Uruguayan International. The prolific attacker has already hit the back of the net 11 times in the league, establishing himself as a mainstay of the team’s attack.
On Saturday, he netted a goal against Fulham at Anfield – his first in six matches – to help his side record a commanding 4-0 win.
Having hit his top form this term, Suarez revealed his ambition of giving it his all to help the team gain entry in the coveted European event.
He also rubbished the rumours suggesting him to be contemplating making an Anfield exit in January, insisting that he had committed his future to Liverpool.
“My dream and desire is to play in the Champions League and achieve big things with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, because they're the club I wanted to play for, and now that I'm here, I want to stay for a long time,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“Just like I waited to play in the Champions League with Ajax and I had that chance, now I hope the same thing happens with Liverpool.”
Suarez has been widely vituperated by players and managers alike in the Premier League for his alleged involvement in diving. Although the striker earlier claimed that he goes to the ground in order to prevent any serious injury, he said that he was trying
to improve on that score as he now knows how the nature of the game is like in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
“I'm trying to change and to avoid [diving] because I know that football is different here, and it's helping me at the same time,” he added.
The former Ajax player has represented the Merseyside club in 76 matches and has got 35 goals to his name.
