Consequently, the Football Association meted out an eight-match ban on the Reds prolific hit-man.
The temperamental player, who has got the knack of getting himself involved in controversies, once again made it into the headlines for all the wrong reasons; this time by refusing to shake hands with Evra during a pre-match ceremony.
Later, he accused the Red Devils of exercising their political clout in the EPL in hatching a conspiracy against him and his club.
As a result, Suarez is being viewed by the English fans as a racist. He was constantly booed by the crowds during the Olympic Games, and he won’t be expecting any better treatment from them this term.
Nonetheless, despite being frequently jeered, the 25-year old unravelled he was never let down by the behaviour of the spectators, as he only seeks acknowledgement from the Liverpool and Uruguayan fans.

“That is the main thing for me. The other supporters, of course, are fanatical about their own teams and it is not as if they are going to support or try to help an opposition player anyway, so I am not really that interested in the reception they give me.”
Despite being heavily linked to making a move away from the Premier League this summer, Suarez renewed his contract with the Reds, committing himself to the Merseyside club for a long period.
He revealed that his decision was influenced by his strong affinity towards Liverpool, and he plans on playing the central role in Brendan Rodgers’ future plans for the team.
“We are professional footballers. We play football on the pitch. Like any other problem someone has, you put it behind you and move on.”
