Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, has revealed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 as his childhood hero, claiming that he used to play with the midfielder on his play station game.
The Uruguayan International, who arrived at Merseyside from the Dutch side Ajax in January 2011, is currently the Reds lead forward. He has already hit the back of the net 11 times in 17 league matches this season, helping his side gradually climb up to
the top half of the table.
The 25-year old may have gained ill fame due to his antics on and off the field. However, even his critics will accept this with little hesitation that he is, at the moment, one of the most inspirational players in the Premier League. In a brief span of
time, he has established himself as an Anfield celebrity.
Nonetheless, the mercurial attacker has a hero of his own in the shape of Steven Gerrard. While talking to the reporters in an interview, Suarez heaped praise on the Liverpool skipper over his remarkable career, insisting that the talismanic schemer has
still got a lot to offer to the Merseyside club.
He also unearthed that not very long from now, he used to play with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 on the play station games just because of Gerrard.
“It's hard to find words to describe what a great player Steven has been - and continues to be - for the club,” he told the club’s official website.
“It was only four years ago or so that I was playing on the Playstation and I was always Liverpool and to have him in my team was great. Now I'm playing alongside him - he was a hero.”
The striker’s sublime start to the season has caught the attention of clubs from across Europe, with potential suitors such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Juventus and Manchester City rumoured to be preparing a January bid for him.
Although the player could easily draw lucrative wages from such clubs, he insisted that he has no plans of calling it quits to his Liverpool career, as he was fulfilling his dream by being at Anfield.
“I'm very, very happy here at the club, I couldn't be happier. Liverpool is a club I've always dreamt of playing at. It's like a dream for me,” he added.
