Sub and amp problems?

i have a amplifier and subwoofers... i bought a car and IT IS WIRED FOR SUBS AND AMPS which means all the wires are connected i jsut need to connect the subs and amp to the wires.....but i dont have the subs and amps connected.......do i just connect the wires to the amp and then the sub or do i have to disconnect a wire from the battery???

  1. disconnect the negative battery terminal just in case


  2. as long as power is off to the amp, there shouldn't be any problem.  also if i'm right, you have plugs and not just bare wires.  if not, make sure the wires don't touch coming of the amp, or any other powered device, each other.

  3. you can just connect it without disconnecting the battery. you will probly get a spark thats all. connect the ground first.

  4. well if the main power wires are not connected i would do that last disconnect your neg side of your battery if ya dont and you may need to replace some fuses if you touch the power cable to a good ground connect all your other wires up first  your aux cable remote speaker power then ground
