Question:

Sub woofer speaker box, fiber glass or wooden?

I am thinking of geting a custom box made for 15" subs.i was wanting to know which is better and why?also does it make a difffernce by pointing the speakers inside the box and the magnet part outside,if there is a difference,can u explain,thanks

  1. with the fiberglass box you can be more creative than with wood but they both make good boxes, no one is better than the other if built to the subs specifications

    as far as pointing the subs inside of the box as opposed to facing them outwards it is mostly done for cosmetics (looks), and when you do that is takes up more room, your wires are exposed, and it does not sound as good)


  2. It does make a differnce pointing the subs in instead of out its just the way the bass hits.  Its not as clean going into the box with the magnet showing.  Its a personal opinion though what you like more but in my opinion i for sure say have the magnet in the box and the sub going out like it is supposed to be.

  3. Fiber glass is way more money than wood, and wood would make more bass if it was a vented box. And about the magnet part I have no idea.
