My husband and I are going to buy a 2nd vehicle in the next few weeks. We have narrowed our choiced down to the Subaru Forester or the Saturn Vue. Consumer Reports prefers the Forester, but I want to hear from people who have one or know about them so if any of you have one or have a strong opinion about either one please let me know so we can weigh out all our options before buying one. Thanks!

  1. I honestly don't know where "Jason" gets his information . We have a Forester and it has never leaked a drop of oil. It is the fourth Subaru we have had in the family and NONE have leaked. They are a great, safe, reliable car. He mentions waiting for a new Toyota model. I say go for the Suby. They have a proven track record and are priced more favorably than the competetion. They hold a good resale and are superb in winter conditions.

  2. If you can wait until October, November, you will be able to buy a similar vehicle that will far exceed both of these in quality. The Toyota Venza will be available soon (mid-size all wheel drive wagon) I you cant wait buy the Subaru for longevity or buy the Saturn for comfort. Saturn is a GM product I hope you know this, therefore the Saturn has a lower resale value than the Subaru. The Subaru however WILL leak oil on your driveway sooner than one would expect. Check out the link and look at Venza.

  3. Subaru hands down.  Now is a good time to buy - you can get a huge discount on a 2008  before the 2009's start rolling in.  Better yet, check into a used 2008 - for the 10-15k miles you give up, you'll save yourself thousands & it's still under warranty.

  4. Subaru, better product, and better resale prices for later

  5. The subaru has better relaibility, better resale value, better driving car, FAR better AWD system. I havent been around that many saturn vues but I know that saturns have average reliability, where as subaru is good. I drive a subaru and love it. I work for a dealership group that has ford, chevy, dodge, chrysler, jeep, toyota, and honda, so I could get any of those for as cheap as they can be gotton and i still drive my subaru.

  6. i have a 2006 Subaru and it is one of the few cars i have owned that i could recommend
