Question:

Subchorionic hemorrhage caused miscarriage?

I just had a miscarriage at 16 wks that we believe to be related to heavy bleeding that I had at 4 wks and 8 wks.

Is there any reason to believe that I could have problems with this in future pregnancies? I've heard that once you have trouble like this that you will most likely in the future - but I have not heard or found evidence of this - Anyone have experience with this?

  1. I am not sure.  I have always bled during pregnancy.  The first pregnancy that I had did result in a missed miscarriage.  My second pregnancy resulted in my daughter...however, I bled from 5 weeks until 15 weeks and was on bed rest.  Then I bled again at 41 weeks and they induced me.  With my son I bled at 11 weeks.  I was officially diagnosed with a chorionic hemorrhage with him.  Basically all of the clots and a lot of red blood came out all at once.  I then continued the pregnancy as normal.  I am not sure if you will have problems with any future pregnancies.  Do you have any children up to this point?  You really ought to ask your OB this question.  All I know is that I always have bleeding when I am pregnant...some women do.  I am very sorry for your loss.  Good luck to you.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss sweetie. I really am. I had the exact problem plus a few extras. I had complete placenta pervia. At 17 weeks my water broke and at 22 weeks and 2 days the bleeding got so bad, I lost my son. I had to get a blood transfusion to replace all the blood I lost. I know how you feel. I was terrified when I found out that I was pregnant exactly 2 months later that the same thing would happen. And they told me there was a chance for that. So I have been on pins and needles as I am 22 weeks and 1 day now with my pregnancy. But so far EVERYTHING  is doing very well. No bleeding, no cramping just a normal pregnancy this time. This is my 3rd pregnancy. All that happened with my 2nd.

I WISH YOU LUCK IN THE FUTURE!

    God Bless.
