Subjects for 6th form??

Question

Okay. I'm 16 and I'll be going into 6th form. The subjects I chose first off were English language, Art and ICT BTEC Certificate.

I can't do english because it clashes with the other choices. I really want to do art and Ict in my career so I'm doing them for definate. I just thought english would be a good qualification to have. But my parents are yelling and complaining at me telling me to change the ICT BTEC into ICT AS and ICT AS is for office work which is not what I'm going to do. I've made my choices and thats what I'm going to do yet they still keep telling me that I'm being close minded and that I'm not listening to what they are talking about, but that is what I just have been doing for the past half an hour. I just don't understand why they won't let me make my own decisions. I've tried talking to them about it but they just won't listen and won't stop until they get there own way. Help?

Dear Sandti: Your choices sounds good, and you definitely will be busy in school;I have a question for you? If you were to consider: first takingICT AS(I realize it for office work)but if you wer to consider taking this course first then ICT BETC certificate wouldn&#039;t that give you more credits for you to have when next year or the other 1/2 of the school year wouldn&#039;t it benefit you more then you could take the course ICT  BTEC certificate? That way all of you would kinda win!!They would let up on you, and you would be doing what they wanted and it would benefit you more in the end!Just talk to your parents(loving) and tell them what you want for your career and why you want these classes, to benefit you  all through school. But remember be yourself. And say a prayer that God will help you to explain this better to your parents.Maybe your parents thinks you  may have taken on more than you can handle for this year?And maybe they just care; be thankful they do care about you, and your health.
