Subltitles won't show in vlc player?

My movies is an mkv file, and the subtitles are an srt file, and Im using my VLC player to put the two together. But the subs don't show up. Anyone know why?

Name the subtitles file the same way the video mkv file and put them in the same folder, that should automatically add the subs. If this doesn't work you might have a bug on your VLC player, unsinstall and download again.
