Question:

Submiting a Web Site

I know how to design a web site using html, and have learned a lot of the “tricks of the trade.”

What I DON’T know how to do is submit it to the internet, so other people can see it. How do I actually get a web page going?

Thanks!

  1. You can go to weebly.com or synthasite.com  they are both step by step. I perfer weebly more because of the fact that it gives a graph number thing to show you how many people have visited your site. You can have a domain like: mydomainname.weebly.com or mydomainname.com -- but with this one you have to pay for. They are both like that. It's your decision if you want to pay for the domain name or not.

  2. To make a website you need a domain and webhosting. The best way to buy a domain for free is to purchase your domain and webhosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some webhosting companies offer this as a gift .Bluehost is the best one

  3. What you need is a web host. You can signup for an account with a webhost or host for free.

If you sign up with a webhost, you will be given an account. You need to register a domain name with the webhost.

Within your account, you will have a folder for your domain name. You will then need an FTP software to copy your website from your computer to the domain folder. Your webhost will give you the FTP username and password which will need to login to your webhost from your FTP software on your computer.

Read this short article, it summarises it all.

  4. www.weebly.com

thats so easy to use just use this you can easily put in html codes in

  5. First you need to Submit a Name to see if it is available for a

    DOMAIN NAME

2nd you need to find a WEB HOSTING SERVICE, like

    Yahoo Geocities.

Actually Geocities offers everything you need.

  6. You need a host, basically a host stores your website online and puts it out there for the world to see. There's two types, there's a free host, and a paid host. Free hosts usually give you some limitation such as not having support for PHP or MySQL, and they put ads on your site. Your URL also isn't entirely your own. If you wanted your site to be "mysite.com," it'd be "mysite.freehost.com." Paid hosts are much better. You pay a monthly or yearly fee, and you get your own URL, meaning it's "mysite.com." The host doesn't advertise on your site and no one even has to know who your host is if you don't want them to. They both usually give you a preset amount of space you can use, but on a paid host you can buy more at any time and they usually come with a lot to begin with.

For a good free host, I'd recommend http://t35.com/

For a good paid host, I'd recommend http://dreamhost.com/

  7. Recommend you try putting your site on the web with Microsoft Office Live Small Business, a free service - http://tinyurl.com/officelive . You can upload your own HTML very easily using its web folder - drag and drop (you just need to turn on third-party design tool under advanced design features to switch on this mode). It has no ads and has 500mb of web space. You may also want to look into using its online design tool that allows you to create web pages without coding. MS is giving a free domain name for the 1st year (still have a subdomain to use).
