SubmittedTDS.is it necessary to file return when no more taxable income left and nothing for refund?

  2. yes ,if your Income is more than taxable income limit i.e 110000 in last year you are bound to file the return but don't worry you can file ur return upto 31.03.2009 without any penalty please read the details from here

  3. You can file ITR upto 31.03.2009.

    U/s 139 if your total income in respect of which you are assessable under this Act during the previous year exceeded the maximum amount which is not chargeable to income-tax then you should furnish a return of your income during the previous year, in the prescribed form on or before the due date

    U/s 234A- Where the return of income is furnished after the due date, or is not furnished, the assessee shall be liable to pay simple interest at the rate of 1 % for every month or part of a month on the amount of the tax due as per the return

    U/s 271F- If a person who is required to furnish a return of his income, as required under sub-section (1) of section 139 or by the provisos to that sub-section, fails to furnish such return before the end of the relevant assessment year, the Assessing Officer may direct that such person shall pay, by way of penalty, a sum of Rs. 5000/
