Im looking for some subs that really pound, my friend has two kenwoods, with a rocksford like 250.1 amp and they are the hardest hitting subs ive heard in person, im looking for something bigger and better, but no out of this world budget subs, im thinking 2 x 12" subs, and a nice amp for around 500ish together, suggestions?

  1. 250.1 amp is the loudest thing you ever heard? Please come buy and sit in my suv with 4-4000 watt amps, and 500amps of pure alternator power on 4 RE Design 12" x*x series subs.....Please eat breakfast after you hear it,I don't like throw up in my ride.I have been known to make several people throw up already.

  2. If you want to spend around 500 bucks then get 2 12 inch kicker L5's or L7's depending on how much you REALLY want to spend. Those are the best subs you can get for the money that will straight knock.

  3. Audiobahn. Go to Ebay and get Audiobahn.

  4. A bit of boom envy here...

Most good subs can outperform the Kenwoods SPL-wise, so rather then add to the list of the before-mentioned, I'll add some otherwise important advice.

The sub enclosure is about as important as what subs you pick out.  Definitely look into a ported enclosure that is ideally suited for your subs.  Keep in mind the necessary air space that the woofer manufacturer's ideally want and the frequency the enclosure is tuned to.  This plays an important part to how your subs will sound in the end.

  5. Ya most of the subs out there will beat the kenwoods....kenwoods are ok...but you pay more for the name than the sound.

My suggestion if you are on a budget, get the Phoenix Gold RSDC subs...roughly 159 a pop.

    http://www.mobilesoundworks.com/ProductD...

One of the best woofers for it's price range and cheaper than the kenwoods.

you could get three for under $500....but all you really need is two.

Phoenixphorum.com has good reviews, as well as realmofexcursion.com.  Caraudio.com might as well.

Oh and get the RSD 1200.1 from Phoenix gold to match.

It might be a bit over 500 for the 2 subs and amp...but it's a great setup and will match to boot!

PS.  Audiobahns are a bit on the bling side rather than performance...will they sound better than the kenwoods yes...But at the price you can get better.  Also you get what you pay for on ebay.  The RSDC's can be found on ebay for $100-125 + ship....And the RSD 1200.1 can be found for around 200-225 on ebay + ship.  So that should fit your $500 budget easily.  Again dont take my word for it.  Go to some of the REAL Car audio forums like Realm of excursion, Car audio, Sound Solutions Audio and Diyma etc.  You will hear people's advice, find advice and tell you whats the best for your money.  The x*x Re audio subs are amazing.  However they are way over your budget.  $500 wont even get you 1 of the 12" x*x's.  I own an x*x myself.  Fi Car Audio makes some good subs too.  But again out of the budget if you want to hit $500.

So if you are just trying to slam your buddies setup, then what I have suggested should work out for you.

  6. two audiobahn subs totaling to 2000 watts rms i use them in my car with a pioner deck listening to "milli" by lil wayne they rattle the mirrors with the volume on 5 yes 5 they are only $80+40 (buy it now no bid) shipping good feedback on the seller and the subs are awesome quality not cheap you can feel by just lifting it they are heavy weight subs not feather weight some companies like to pass of for 1000 watts. the sub box sealed 45+40 shipping (still cheaper than bestbuy) amp sony xplod ($100+27 shipping)1200 also in my car the amp 500 watts rms 1200 peak which and priced at hundreds less than the comptition and about as high as amps go(watts wise) for under a grand

total price 330 about leaves you with 170 maybe get a second amp one per sub and a nice wiring kit which is key to the install and your car will POUND and will have about 4 times more power than your friends make sure your alternator is in good shape or just run one amp cause two could be a problem but belive me just one is loud

  7. You could order some Rockford Punch P3D412 (500 rms a piece) subs online and get a good deal of around $110 per sub (about $130 after shipping). Millionbuy.com has these prices. I have ordered from them before and all of their products are warrantied for a year. I just received my new amp that they replaced under warranty today, so they are legit people. I have owned a pair of these subs also. Caraudiomag.com has a review on them that might further convince you.

Onlinecarstereo.com has an Alpine MRP-M1000 amp for $289.99 which is 1000 rms and would be a perfect match for those subs. I have also ordered from onlinecarstereo and they are reliable. They have free shipping on this amp.

These are good name-brand companies so you can't go wrong. You get this setup, and you would embarrass your friend. My suggestion would cost $550 total and be well worth it.
