Question:

Substitute for alcohol in Virgin Lime Margaritas?

I bought virgin lime juice that's meant for margaritas and the recipe on the back says use

3 parts of the juice

1 cup of tequila

2 tablespoons lime zest

1/2 cup crushed ice

I'm not a drinker and I'm underage, so what's a good substitue for the tequila?

  1. Just use some 7-Up or Sprite.....  Put it on the blender first, and add the soda.  Actually, I've been buying "Simply Limeade" juice in the refrigerated juice section, and that'd be really good too

  2. orange, lemon, or lime juice.

    Virgin Margaritas

    2 tablespoons kosher (coarse) salt

1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges

1 can (6 ounce size) frozen limeade concentrate, thawed

    1/4 cup orange juice

    4 cups ice cubes

Place the salt in a shallow dish. Rub the rim of each of 4 margarita glasses with a lime wedge and dip the rims into the salt; set the lime wedges aside.

In a blender, blend the limeade, orange juice, and ice cubes on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes, or until well blended and the ice cubes are crushed. Pour evenly into the glasses and garnish with the lime wedges. Serve immediately.

  3. Margarita liquid mixer available at the grocery store.
