I am wanting to make sugar cookies and replace the egg with banana and baking soda (I found that suggestion on another site). Has anyone tried this before? Will it give the cookies a banana flavor because I don't want that?

  1. yes the banana flavor comes over .But it is very mild

we have a banana here in Mexico which can be used as a substitute for flour ,to make tortillas .

  2. You may also want to consider a product called "Ener-G Egg Replacer". It is vegan friendly. See link below.

  3. it only needs to be half a banana, but you can use one whole one.  it needs to be properlly mashed and all the yucky bits taken out, it might give it a slight flavour but not a full on banana muffin type flavour.  It's actually a very good method for replacing eggs in sweet foods.

  4. i always use apple sauce instead of egg. it works really well & helps keep the cookes moist. banana is likely to give baked goods a little banana flavor.

  5. Yes I have tried it and they give it slightly a banana flavor. You could also try flaxseeds or applesauce.
