Subtle Knife tipped to win 3663 First For Food Service Handicap
Subtle Knife has a solid chance of winning the 3663 First For Food Service Handicap at Brighton in England on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will walk away with a cash prize of £2,264.
The track conditions will be good in the 6 furlong 209 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 15:15 GMT. The shorter distance to cover will make things quite interesting, as there are some very good runners ready for action at Brighton.
Looking at the decent record and impressive speed of Subtle Knife, it is clear that she is one of the top contenders for victory today. However, she lacks experience, which might discourage the punters to risk money on her. Moreover, the bookies also do
not expect her to win comfortably and have given her a general starting price of 7 to 1.
The three-year-old filly debuted last year and took part in a couple of races. Her first ever outing was at Southwell, where she was priced 9 to 2 and was expected to fight for the top three positions. She lived up to the expectations of everyone and took
the runner up spot by a neck distance.
However, the Giles Bravery’s trainee was unable to continue the good momentum and finished 12th in her next race. This performance would have put her on the back foot, but she started the 2012 season positively, finishing fourth in the first couple
of events.
After a wait of four races, Subtle Knife finally brought up her maiden victory in the sport, winning by three quarters. She entered the event with a starting price of 8 to 1 and took the top spot after a thrilling battle against her rivals.
In her most recent run, Needwood Blade’s daughter managed to challenge her opponents for victory, but had to settle for second place in the end. She is in very good rhythm right now and will not make life easy for her rivals in the race today.
The young filly will be partnered by seasoned rider, William Carson, who has got an impressive record, winning a lot of races. However, his winning percentage is on the lower side, which is not a positive sign.
