Subtle Knife to slice away the field of Mirror Punters Club Fillies' Handicap at Lingfield
Lingfield will stage the Class 5 Mirror Punters Club Fillies' Handicap over seven furlongs on Thursday, 7th June. The race has attracted a line-up of eighteen three-year-old runners who will invade the track in order to get entitled to the £2,386 prize money.
Almost all the candidates for the race today have tried their luck at Lingfield but only one was able to claim a race there and that also through the very recent outing. Subtle Knife made the most of her very first try at Lingfield and very successfully dominated it.
Needwood Blade’s three-year-old chestnut filly out of mare, Northern Bows, has been active thrice ever since the new season kick started. Her seasonal debut was in the Hyder-Collins Easter Chicks Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 5th April at Folkestone over five furlongs.
The race was won by the 7/4 favourite of the race, Heartsong, who led the runner up of the race, Auntie Mabel, by four lengths. Subtle Knife was the last one to conclude the race on the track of four.
Her second attempt of the season was in the Book Kempton Tickets On 0844 579 3008 Classified Stakes on 30th April at Kempton over six furlongs. The race was won by Wiltshire Life who set the 15/8 favourite of the race, Dancheur, into the runner up’s slot.
Concluding the affair third in line was Glennten. Once more Subtle Knife finished fourth.
Giles Bravery’s under charge then got a firm grip on the third outing of the season. She won the Citibet – New Weekly Football Betting Magazine Fillies’ Handicap on 23rd May at Lingfield over six furlongs.
She was paired up with William Carson for the race and the two led the runner up, Kyanight, by just ¾ of a length. Coming at terms with the third position was Chester’Slittlegem while the 5/2 favourite of the race, Fine Painting, managed the fourth spot on the field of nine.
If she can bag her first try at the race course then there is not much that can keep her away from pairing up wins at Lingfield through capturing the race today.
