I said I would do make-up for a friend and she doesn't want it to look obvious so are there any subtle ways I can eccentuate her eyes, or make her skin glow. What colours would you recommend.

As mentioned above she has almost black hair, blue eyes and is very pale.

  1. My hair isn't quite that dark (lighter brown), but I definitely have the extremely pale skin and blue eyes.  Browns look great and I personally use Almay's eye color sets (Intense iColor I think they're called now - "Play up the blues" and "Bring out the blue") because the combinations of browns and blues in the set work well together.  If you're going with something more simple, stick with different shades of brown with a dark brown eyeliner.  Just a little bit of eyeliner can really make blue eyes pop without it being obvious.  Most people just way overdo eyeliner.

Also use a darker eyeshadow towards the bottom of the lid and fade as you work your way towards the brow.  If she has almost black hair I would stick with the standard black mascara (I personally don't use mascara much because it's a very fine line between looking good and looking obvious) or the blue that's in the Almay "play up the blue" set - it's not as obvious looking as it sounds.  The brown in the "bring out the blue" set might look a little obvious if her hair is almost black.

  2. Try adding a light foundation. A small amount of blush.  Add some light brown eyeshadow

  3. Well it all depends on your skin tone, the shape of your facial features and more so I wouldn't be able to tell you. But you can go to the MK website and do a Virtual Make over and upload a picture of yourself and see what they will look like on you. It's all free and you can even order what you want off the website. You must Login or Register to use the website but it's free and they DON'T send you junk e-mail or anything.

  4. go bronze tones- make the pale less pale! then you can have more options for other lip and eye colour pallets.
