Subtraction property of equality?

pls give me tons of examples about this property.

but i do know its about a-c=b-c

but please give more statements that can be considered as a proof by Subtraction property of equality

  1. Basically if you have two things that are equal, they will still be equal if you subtract the same amount from both sides.

    You see it all the time in algebra.

    4x + 8 = 10

    Now subtract 8 from both sides:

    4x + 8 - 8 = 10 - 8

    4x = 2

    The rule you are using in this step is the "subtraction property of equality"

    I don't think you need more examples to understand it.  Just if you ever find yourself subtracting the same amount from both sides... you've just invoked the property.


  2. such as 4x +9 = 3 ----> 4x + 9 - 9 = 3 - 9---> 4x = -6 ?...4 + 3 cos Θ = 5---> 4 + 3 cos Θ - 4 = 5 - 4---> 3 cos Θ = 1 ----> cos x = 1 / 3 ?...what you do to one side of an equality you must do to the other side also.
