I was wondering if anyone could recommend some suburbs in ontario which are no further then 1 hour away from toronto city and have:

- train which goes to toronto city

- Good public or catholic secondary schools

- not TOO expensive (housing)

If detail is given it would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

  1. Your best bet for all of those options is probably either Georgetown in the west or Oshawa in the east.

As for details all of what you have stated are your preferences these 2 city's have, Georgetown is a bit smaller and more rustically homey and is still relatively a country place, were as Oshawa is a city with the hussle and bussle of a big town and both have access to the GO train into the downtown core.

  2. The city of Vaughan (where i live)

I live in the woodbridge area specifically and it is a MAJOR suburban area and right next to toronto. My parents work there and it takes only 20 min. to get there. Also it's a really pretty area and well groomed with a lot of italians

  3. Rouge  Hill or West Rouge in Scarborough. But it's not really in Scarborough it's on the border of Pickering and Scarborough.

    It's a very in-demand neighborhood.

The Go Train can get you downtown in half-hour to 40 mins.

TTC stops located all over the neighbourhood can take you to LRT stations and so on.

MANY, MANY schools! There's 2 on my street alone.

I went to an excellent Catholic school around the block. [Catholic schools are way better btw]

Houses can be expensive, it depends on what area you look at. New homes are constantly being built along the water's edge and there's older homes also.

Definitely check it out over here. It's amazing, lived here all my life.

  4. Clarington, just east of Oshawa. Housing is plentiful, good neighbourhoods. Train/bus to downtown Toronto.
