Subway/Quiznos Subs?

Which way is a sub supposed to cut?

I never thought about this before, but just realized it when I ordered a sub and it was cut the wrong way. It was so awkward to eat it, because I was not used to it at all.

So, looking at a sub, is it supposed to be cut from the right, so that it opens to the right, or cut from the left, so that it opens to the left? Or is there no rule to this? Any former-subway employees might know this.

  1. we only have a subway and they cut in half

  2. At Subway it is called a "hinge cut".  You cut it from left to right at an angle.  Flip the bread around and open it up.  Meat on the top and veggies on the bottom.

  3. alex is completely right

  4. It depends on which way you turn the sub, does it not?! If not, it should open like a book or a card if you turn it sideways. I'm not completely sure that I understand your question.

  5. I don't think the cut really matters

  6. Quiznos Subs

  7. I worked at subway.... and when you cut it you hold the bread with your left hand and cut with the right making sure you dont cut through the bread. Thats how subway does it. Some other places like quiznos or togos do it 2 ways. One like the way i described and the other is that they cut all the way through the bread.

  8. subway
