Ran my subs at 2 Ohms. I Have a 1 ohm stable amp and cant run two 12" 4ohm subs at 2 ohm so i am running them at 1ohm. My amp is 4000 rms at 1ohm. I have the level 1-10 on 2 and the bass boost at at a quater. The head unit goes to 35 volume but i keep it at 20. Subs are pounding and i want to know should i turn the gain up more or leave it so i dont cook them. The subs are 1100 rms each 2200 peak. Should i keep the gain nearly not turned up or should i play around with it and put it up a quater of the way? And what about the bass boost? I have the subs in a sealed box and think they could do more but dont want to cook them???? HELP??????????

  1. yo bro you could turn the the gain up on the amplifier but first adjust down the bass gain from the head unit so you could have more clear sound coming from the mid range and highs..that is what i done to most of the car system installation...as for the bass boost it up to you if you what deeper bass turn the boost a bit higher..you should be good..

  2. Big Ty is totally wrong about how to tune this.

First, do you know that bass boost will kill your subs? Turning that up is the easiest way to make those subs clip, turn the bass boost off. Next turn your gain up very slowly, when you start to hear any distortion what so ever start turning the gain back down slowly until the distortion is gone. Adjust your crossover on the amp accordingly, and leave the bass boost off.
