If I am getting 2 new subs with 100 rms each at 8 ohms, and I wire them in parallel to the amp for 4 ohms and the amp gives out 200 watts at 4 ohms, will this setup work correctly?

Thanks in advance

  1. Yes...if you plan to run both subs from one channel of the amp (bridged or otherwise) you are correct...you are presenting a 4 ohm load to the amp on a single channel.

As an alternate plan, you can buy two subs of the dual voice coil variety (2 x 8 ohm coils per sub)...wire each sub coil in parallel to make each sub a 4 ohm static load.  This will give you the capability to supply 200W of power to each sub one per channel.

    Efficiency is bliss.

  2. yeah it would work perty good. i wouldnt bridge the amp though kus it just wont be so great. so thats what i think u should do
