i have 2 12inch GSW12 subwoofers, they are bridged together in the box, and i have them hooked up to a 500W sony xplod amp, the problem im having is that they turn off every time i turn anything up too loud, i wouldnt think this would happen especially since the amp isnt even half of the max, and its not even turned up high, so i was wondering if you knew what my problem would be, , any help would be greatly appreciated!

  1. you are running the subwoofers in a ohm configuration the amp doesnt support.

check your subwoofer model and see what type of ohm load they are, dual of singla 2 or 4 ohms.

then see who you have them wired to be able to get the final ohm load.

once you have this, check the specs on the amplifier and see if its stable at that ohm load.

i cannot tell u all this due to the fact that information of the equipment is missing on your post.

using the bridged wiring configuration usually causes this problem cus the amp is not stable at the ohm load. thats why a mono block or a class-d amp is used for subwoofers only.
