hey i just recently bought two new alpine type R 12in 4ohm voice coil subwoofers and i was looking to possibly upgrade my head unit. right now i have a pioneer 5900ib and it gets the job done. i was looking to upgrade to a full touch screen dvd and/or nav system. does anyone know if a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD 6.1'' Touchscreen DVD have subwoofer controls where i can turn up the subs loudness. if not, is there any system where that option is possible

  1. no experience with that radio personally, but those touch screen radios usually have the worse EQs out there (3 or 5 bands if you are lucky) so i would get a separate EQ

here are the specs (from pioneers website)

    High-Pass Crossover (HPF) 50/63/80/100/125Hz, -12dB/Oct. 50/63/80/100/125Hz, -12dB/Oct.

    Subwoofer Crossover (LPF) 50/63/80/100/125Hz, -18dB/Oct. 50/63/80/100/125Hz, -18dB/Oct.

RCA Preouts 2 pair (Front, Rear or Non-Fading) 2 pair (Front, Rear or Non-Fading)

    Preout Voltage Hi-Volt (4V), 100 ohm

don't see a "sub" RCA preout, so i would say no

most amps have remotes that can control the amount of bass from the drivers seat that come with the amp, here are some              http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/G...
