Question:

Subwoofer trouble?

I have a whole system set up, and now I'm having problems. Whenever I plug my headunit in, when my car is on the subwoofers make really annoying loud progressions. They don't thump, but just roll bass notes over and over not periodically but every couple seconds here and there. When i unplug the head unit it stops, but then i can't listen to music. When I tap the gas the speakers go with the noise of the muffler and that also is annoying. What is wrong and how do I fix this? thanks a lot.

  1. the only thing i can think of is get a shielded RCA cable.....that should fix it

but if you other speakers make the noise that u describe then it may be another problem

  2. bad ground on the head unit or the amp, recheck ur grounds, sounds like something is touching somewhre, what u are hearing is the alternator whine when the car is running, and eletrical surge through the subs, GROUND!!!

ALSO make sure that ur cables arent runnin on the same side of car. that can also cause it, but it sounds like a ground.

For the amp the best ground is usually on the trunk latch. Thats always been my best luck.. GOOD LUCK
