Subwoofers audio?

ok im going to have about 400-500$ at the end of summer, and i want to buy 2 12" d6 diamand audio subwoofers, and an amp and speakers. and im all confused as what to get for the amp and speakers. what does the amp actually do, does it produce the noise, along with the speakers. and do the speakers have to be a special set to be loud enough to be heard over the subs. would anyone know how much all this would cost, i know the subs are going to cost around 300-400$, what would a good amp cost, and speakers cost?? anything else you would know about this would help. i dont want to know what any of your personall preferances would be i already know whats subs i want, just speakers and amps.

  1. well with your limted experience how can u be totally sure what subs you want?

anyway an amp AMPLIFIES. so it takes the sound current from ur head unit and boosts it so many amps more.

you dont need to waste your money on two subs, if your only getting one amp then unless its top quality $500+ then its gunna overheat and ul have a dodgy setup. You only need one for doof doof.

youl need an amp to match the RMS of whichever speakers and sub you get. for the best setup you can go with Component speakers (speaker with tweeter) or bang for buck get QUALITY coaxials (speaker with inbuilt tweeter).

stick to the best brands only: JVC, PIONEER, ALPINE, SONY, FUSION, PANASONIC etc.

now there are two types of amps. speaker amps and monoblock amps. monoblock are usually smaller, and give you the bass for your subs.

you will also need atleast a REAL (by real i mean certified) 4/8GAUGE audio cable set, can buy em from any audio shop. they come with rca, power, ground, remote, inline fuse etc.

heres a setup i would reccomend to you:

    SUBS:

(take out the monoblock i mentioned up there)

(add an enclosure of your choice)

they are all bang for buck products.

6x9 coaxials make a lot of noise and will fill up the back, but if you want your car to sound good you will get some quality components for the front.

Run the speakers off your speaker amp

Run the sub off the monoblock amp (or just get a kit like the fusion one)

in mine and others opinions too, fusion amps are good! and pioneer speakers sound fantastic.

and dont install it yourself.. theyl be problems.

anyway fusion make good cheap amps

pioneer and jvc are good but more expensive =]

  2. dont listen to either of these guys neither one of them knows anything about audio specially the second onemy question is why do you want to here your speakers over your subs?  that kinda defeats the purpos dont it? or do yoou mean you want to hear voice with bass?the amp transmits the signal from your cd player and amplifies it to whatever you have hooked up to it hence the amp part lol just match the rms ratings on the subs to an amp you are looking at and check ohm load for both
