The writing was on the wall and the critics were right on the money. This past season’s transfer window left AC Milan crippled with their goal scorers, playmakers and even some of their defensive line jumping ship
The dismal performances just keep piling up and the major reason is the following list of players who are no longer in the squad: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029
and Rino Gattuso and you have the bulk of the force that was AC Milan.
All these players were lost to bigger clubs who had revenues and investments far greater than what AC Milan could offer its players.
Despite being a legendary club and one of the biggest names in Italian football, the sad fact is that AC Milan cannot compete with its European counterparts when it comes to buying players.
Ibrahimovic was lost to an offer which could not be refused, and in all fairness the club could not hold the striker for much longer and the transfer was a good move, financially.
Also the club was unable to bring Kaka over from Real Madrid and Robinho has shown interest in going back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 and playing for Santos. This further threatens to rupture the solid foundation that Milan desperately needs.
Following the departure of the aforementioned players, new blood was introduced in to the side. Seniority and experience was replaced with talent and drive. Players like El Shaarawy got their chance to represent Milan; Kevin-Prince
Boateng came in to the spot light as well as Kevin Constant, both of whom have tremendous talent.
Despite all this the losses have piled up, with failures against Fiorentina, Internazionale and Atlanta. All these losses coupled with the mounting allegations against the manager have stressed out the Italian giants at the start
of the season.
Talks about Adriano Galliani being sacked were afloat more frequently until they were quelled by the upper level management as being rumours only. This sort of thing can throw any side of their game and most likely piled on in
case of the Rossoneri.
The manager was caught blaming the mindset of the players as the reason behind the losses. Saying there was nothing wrong with the game play or their level of skill but rather their inability to get in to the game consistently
and at crucial junctures.
The manager also said that there were far too many instances when needless goals were given away to the opposition. Case in point being the almost embarrassing fumble from the AC Milan shot stopper Abbiati against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in the
opening moments of the game. Sure it was unlucky but eventually this kind of thing only serves to unsettle the mindset of the team.
Although later on in the same match Milan went on to equalize the score line when initially they were trailing 2-0.
This was a surprisingly well played comeback by the side and appreciated by the media and fans alike. Most people seem to believe this may also be because of the pep talk the team received from the president of the club Berlusconi.
The man in charge showed faith in Massimiliano Allegri and also the new wonder kid, El Shaarawy. He was of the opinion that for him to shout and point out the mistake the squad has been making is in no one’s best interest least
of all the teams. He levelled with the players and gave them hope that the season is far from over.
The next month is very important for the club’s future and a lot depends on the outcome of the 8 matches that are to be played. Two of these matches next month being Champions League bouts versus Anderlecht and Zenit.
It is imperative that Milan pull up from this nose dive that they have taken utilizing these upcoming fixtures or they could as their manager has so wildly put it end up in Serie B.
